Hiya! How’s it going? Hope you’re well. These more personal posts aren’t as frequent as they used to be, but there’s good reason for this one as today we’ve launched Sounds Good PR!!
Having already received high praise such as “A myth intended 2 devalue, undermine & discredit our industry”, and quotes like “I don’t even know what you’re talking about” and “I’m a pizza delivery man, please just give me the money”, I’ve taken the plunge and gone for it. Gone for it in the sense of taking to Twitter to reassure myself that this is a good idea, of course.
The reason for this is simply because I needed a change. While receiving new music on a very constant basis is still the coolest thing, things had become a little bit monotonous. Each week came with the same laborious routine that became automated to the point that I felt like I needn’t to think about what I was doing, which isn’t how a hobby should be. I didn’t want to continue spending the same amount of time on content that gradually dwindled in quality, so have jumped into PR like a dive into ice cold water; refreshing myself into being awake for the first time in a long while again.
Not gonna lie, I’ve no idea what I’m doing but I’m excited to have these nerves. That unknowing feeling about how things will go. This last weekend has been spent building a mailing list and the thought of “will I actually have music to send them?” has been ever-present. It’s daunting, but I’m hoping it becomes something pretty special.
With this shift in focus, Sounds Good as a blog will have to calm down a bit. This means that it won’t be putting out loads of content each week, but it might drop the odd review or feature instead. This is by no means a hiatus (Peanut Mixtape already stole that thunder), but just a slight hibernation while I try something new.
Now that’s all been said, if you’re an artist interested in combining forces to create some real PR magic then please drop me (Adam) an email at email@example.com. As well, if you’d like to join the Sounds Good PR mailing list/friendship club, then please do let me know. Right, hopefully there are enough details within all that waffle to let you know what’s going on with Sounds Good from now, and that you’re just as excited to see where things go as much as I am! Thank you, love you, see you soon. xx
